What Customers Say About Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist Soundtrack:

It must be that the director lacked a musical vision and the soundtrack was put together by the movie company, sold to the highest bidder. For a movie all about music nerds, I was expecting a sophisiticated, knowing selection of great indie songs. There are 4-5 songs along those lines, but mostly the songs are super generic and uninteresting. Compare this to the soundtracks to Juno or Garden State or the Wes Anderson movies, where the directors clearly care about the music and are very specific about what they want in there. Bizarrely, this is not that kind of soundtrack.

After I watched this movie I really liked the music and checked out the soundtrack. Amazon had it at a good price and so after listening to the previews I purchased it. These aren't the normal bands I would listen to but I like the indie sound and if you liked the movie you'll like the soundtrack. Listening to it can always give you visual remembrances of favorable scenes from the movie.

What makes the movie worth watching (and what makes this CD worth owning) is the music.Vampire Weekend are probably the most prominent band on the album, and their track doesn't disappoint. The movie "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" is a decent (if not necessarily good) film following the romantic travails of two meant-to-be-would-be lovers in Manhattan over the course of one night looking for an elusive band. It's okay, but a run-of-the-mill rom-com with barely anything beyond the leads to recommend it. But other great bands and artists of the indie New York scene get in great tracks for the film. I tend to be long-winded in my previous reviews, so I'll just keep it simple:Get it for all of the songs, but especially "Xavia" by the Submarines, "After Hours" by We Are Scientists, "How to Say Goodbye" by Paul Tiernan, and "Out Loud" by Shout Out Louds. That's all I got, you'll have to trust me that this CD is worth picking up even if you didn't like or see the movie.

I love it. I was obsessed with this soundtrack for about a month. I kept playing it over and over. It totally reminds me of the movie--which I loved too. I ordered it right after I saw the movie.

The first few songs are solid. I thought that there might be a problem when I didn't recognize any of the artists featured on the soundtrack. I bought the soundtrack because of all the hype the music in the movie was receiving, and I'm normally not disappointed when I take a chance on an album, but I really was this time. Everything else after that is just okay. Anyway, the songs as a whole are quite creative and "different." Sadly, though, many of them are also dull. I literally almost fell asleep while listening. I haven't seen the movie, but I've heard that the songs work well with it. Maybe that's the case, and so maybe people should just see the movie and pass on this boring assortment of songs.
